Safety is a necessity in all organisations, programmes, projects, systems etc. that directly or indirectly can be subject to an accident where people can be injured or killed. Safety therefore has to be systematically addressed to avoid accidents or to eliminate risks that may lead to accidents within sectors such as the transportation sector, the health sector, defence etc.
